Less than two weeks after being thrown from his pickup
after a late-night bachelor party, Jamie Lynn Spears’s boyfriend, Casey
Aldridge, stood as best man at his cousin’s weekend wedding in
Mississippi, a family source tells PEOPLE.
“He had the weakness of having been in bed and still trying to get
his feet under him, but he made it,” the source says. “It was outside,
it was hot, but he did okay. It’s just going to take him a few weeks to
get better.”
The wedding and reception took place Saturday at Luckett Lodge in
Brandon, Miss., with about 50 guests. Another source says Casey was
limping and walking slowly. “He was not very animated,” that source
said. “He is usually quite lively, but he seemed lethargic.”
Spears also participated in the wedding but was not part of the
wedding party. “She helped greet guests,” the family source says. “No
one really made a big deal over her, it was just Casey and Jamie Lynn.”
Aldridge, 20, flipped his truck on April 26 on a rural Louisiana
road, causing him and two of his four passengers to be thrown from the
vehicle. Aldridge spent nearly a week in the hospital with head trauma but no apparent brain injury.
As for wedding bells ringing in the future for Aldridge and Spears,
the family source says there are no concrete plans, “but they’re
definitely together. You can throw all those rumors away.” He and
Spears are living together with their 11-month-old daughter, Maddie.
While Aldridge appears ready to recover fully from the wreck, the
hospital stay and trauma of his narrow escape from serious injury may
have had an effect on him, the source says. “He seems to me to be
thinking a little more seriously about things,” the family source says.
“I think he seems to be a little more subdued, more down to earth.”
Casey Aldridge, the boyfriend of Jamie Lynn Spears and father to her 10-month-old baby, was released from a Mississippi hospital on Friday, five days after flipping over in his pickup truck while partying with friends at a late-night bachelor party, a family source tells PEOPLE.
"Casey got home today, and he's doing really well," the source
says. "He'll have to have some rest for the next few weeks. He's still
got a headache, but everything looks good."
Aldridge, 20, suffered a head injury that required no surgery
and apparently caused no permanent damage, the source says. He was
taken to a small, rural hospital in Ferriday, La., early Sunday and
later transferred by ambulance to the larger University of Mississippi
Medical Center in Jackson, where he spent time in the intensive care unit.
Spears
has been at his side since the incident, even riding in the ambulance
with Aldridge on the way to the Mississippi hospital.
"They're both at the house in Liberty (Miss.)," the source
says. Spears's mother, Lynne, has been keeping the couple's baby,
Maddie Briann, "for most of the time during this whole episode, but I
guess the baby will be going back home. Now Jamie Lynn will have two
babies to care for."
Aldridge had been attending a bachelor party for a cousin who
is getting married next week. He is the best man, "but I don't know if
he'll be up to that or not. We'll just have to wait and see," the
source says.
Update: Casey Aldridge appears to be okay according to the latest reports. However, he will be kept under observations by doctors for the next three days. More information will be available in the near future.
Casey Aldridge, the father of actress Jamie Lynn Spears' baby, and two of his four passengers were thrown from his 2008 Ford F-250 pickup when it rolled over in Louisiana, state police said Monday. No one in the truck was wearing a seat belt.
Trooper Mark Dennis said Aldridge, 19, suffered moderate injuries. He was taken to Riverrun Medical Center in nearby Vidalia, then moved to an undisclosed hospital, Dennis said.
The wreck happened about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a highway 60 miles southeast of Monroe, near the Mississippi state line. Dennis said the passengers, men aged 19 to 23, refused treatment for minor injuries.
"The fact that three of these guys survived ejection totally defies the odds," he said.
Investigators did not find cause to suspect drugs or alcohol, but cited Aldridge for careless driving, Dennis said. No one was cited for not wearing a seat belt.
Aldridge, a pipe-layer from Liberty, Miss., is the father of Maddie Briann Spears, born last June. Spears, 18, is the star of the Nickelodeon TV series "Zoey 101" and the sister of singer Britney Spears.
The crash happened in Tensas Parish down Louisiana Highway 606 near a country club on the inside shore of Lake Bruin, a clear oxbow lake popular for boating, fishing and swimming.
Dennis said the truck went off the right side of the highway and into a ditch, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the highway and flipped at least once.

Jamie Lynn Spears' decoy is demanding $2 Million USD or she'll sue.
A woman who police used as a decoy for Jamie
Lynn Spears at Los Angeles International Airport in September is now
demanding airport police pay her $2 million, or she will sue.
A
lawyer for Adessa Eskeridge has filed a claim for damages against the
LAX Police Department, suggesting that the woman was used as a “decoy”
for the famous teenager in September 2008 without her consent.
Eskeridge’s
attorney, R.J. Molligan claims Eskeridge was “not given any details as
to the nature of the task or of the potential danger involved. She
simply followed the instructions of the police as most good citizens
would do.”
In her filing, Molligan alleges that LAX
police “did not want to subject Ms. Spears to the pushing, shoving,
humiliation and possible physical injury that come with the paparazzi,
but instead decided that Ms. Eskeridge was not important enough to give
the same protections to.”
The
lawyer claims her client was “never informed that upon deplaning, she
would be mobbed by the paparazzi, that she would be in fear of her
well-being, that her picture would be taken, (and) that video of her
would be all over the Internet.”
Molligan
alleges that Eskeridge was “deceived and manipulated” by the LAX
police. She also claims that her client “suffered and continues to
suffer great humiliation” as a result of the incident.
In her statement, Molligan adds that the incident of last September counts as a “false arrest.”
Molligan
notes that her client is “willing to consider a reasonable and fair
settlement that fully compensates her for the humiliation, fear and
harassment that she has been subjected (to) at the hands of LAX-PD.”
The reasonable settlement Molligan is requesting for her client is $2 million. Source: MSNBC

"The family was totally excited," a friend of the family tells PEOPLE. "Graciella's wonderful. Everybody was happy about it."
The bride looked stunning in a beige-white Carolina Herrera dress, while the groom sported a smart Marc Jacobs suit. As for the guests?
